QuadrigaCX is a digital marketplace, which allows users to buy and sell Bitcoins on the open market. Users are able to place buy and sell orders in the QuadrigaCX marketplace, where they sell to others users who are also looking to buy or sell. QuadrigaCX has no control over the current price of Bitcoins traded in the marketplace.

How does it work?

The process is quite simple. To buy Bitcoins, you fund your QuadrigaCX account with Canadian Dollars using one our many funding options, and then place a buy order on the open market. Your buy order will then be fulfilled as soon as a seller is willing to sell at the price at which you have agreed to buy. If you choose to buy Bitcoins using a market order, your order will be processed instantly at the current market rate. The process of selling works the same. Users fund their QuadrigaCX account with Bitcoins, and then place a sell order on the open market. When a buyer is willing to pay the price at which you have agreed to sell, the order will be processed. You can then withdraw your CAD using one of our many withdrawal options.

Where can I link my bank account?

We do not link to your bank or store its information within your profile. Please start by familiarizing yourself with our numerous Funding/Withdrawal options and consider the ones that best meet your needs. We'll only require your banking information when you select to withdraw via Bank Wire or Direct Bank Transfer, at which time you'll be provided with fields for manual entry.

What's the difference between Interac Online and Interac e-Transfer?

Interac Online is where you use your bank card to fund your account much like using a credit card to make a purchase online. It's only compatible with TD, BMO, Scotia and participating credit union bank cards without a Visa or MasterCard logo on them. Interac e-Transfer is where you login to your online and execute an Interac e-Transfer payment that is pushed to us via email by the Interac network. Only e-Transfers sent to our secret email found on the e-Transfer funding page will be accepted.

What's the difference between a Bank Wire and Direct Bank Transfer?

You only need to complete 1 form of verification, either ID & Address or Equifax instant verification, to have access to the Bank Wire funding option. To send us a Bank Wire you physically go into you branch with the info we email you, after you have initiated the funding request, and ask the teller to send a Bank Wire. A Direct Bank Transfer is where you are with one of the same financial institutions that we have a partnership with listed on the funding page and send funds from your account to our matching financial institution over the phone, online or at the branch.

How do I send Bitcoin to another person or pay a merchant with them?

Once you have Bitcoin in your QuadrigaCX account, you will want to request withdrawal. You can easily find the withdrawal button on the Dashboard page under your XBT balance which will then prompt you to enter the amount of Bitcoin and wallet address you want to send them to.

Are Bitcoin withdrawals instant?

Bitcoin withdrawals are generally paid within 10 minutes. On rare occasions, withdrawals may take up to 8 hours.

Will I receive an email when you receive my funds?

While we encourage you to use the new address we provide after each XBT funding, you may continue to use a previous one without issue.

Are Bitcoin fundings instant?

Yes, they are automatically added after 4 confirmations. In rare circumstances, Bitcoin transfers may be manually reviewed, in which case they may be delayed for up to 6 hours.

Are Ether account fundings instant?

When you transfer Ether to your QuadrigaCX account, it is added to your available balance after 12 confirmations.

How can I expedite my Bitcoin funding?

Some wallet providers give you the ability to set something called a miner's fee. If they do please leave as the default or increase, not decrease. If there's no option consider it set as the default. High fees improve speed of confirmation and help ensure your transaction will confirm.

What is user verification?

User Verification is a process by which users can authenticate their identity and use all of the features provided by QuadrigaCX. In order to prevent fraud, we require identification information for certain transactions, including certain funding methods.

How does your verification process work?

We offer 2 types of verification: a. ID & Address verification where you securely upload copies of your ID and proof of address. b. No, user verification is only required for certain funding options.

Do you charge trading fees?

Yes, we charge a 0.5% fee on all completed trades on the following order books BTC/CAD, BTC/USD, ETH/CAD. The fee on the ETH/BTC order book is 0.2%. Note that the fee does not apply to open orders, and is only charged after a trade is executed.

What's my Transaction PIN?

Similar to a bank pin, your transaction pin is something you create(d) during the registration process, usually 4 to 6 digits in length. If required, you can reset your PIN within your profile settings.

Why is the system is not letting me trade?

You either first need to fund your account so that you have a tradable balance or you have an open order that's waiting to be filled. If you scroll down on the Dashboard or Trade pages you'll be able to locate your order and click "×" to close it and create a new one if you desire.

What is 2FA?

2FA is short for "Two-Factor Authentication" which is an additional security measure offered by the exchange to help prevent unauthorized access to your account. Within your Profile Settings you can enable Google or Email 2FA. If you have a mobile device that can download Google Authenticator from its app store we strongly recommend choosing this 2FA method as it provides the highest level of security.

What if I lose my 2FA device?

When you enabled Google 2FA on the exchange you were presented a special reset code to write down or save somewhere safe. To reset, you must first login by entering your Client ID and Password and use that code to disable Google 2FA on your account.

What is a Voucher?

When users have CAD or USD funds in their account they can withdraw them in the form of a physical voucher code that is mailed or a digital voucher code which is issued instantly, either can be applied back to your QCX account or any other member's of the exchange by entering its code within the voucher funding section. At the moment vouchers are not for sale online or at any physical location.

How do I use a voucher code?

To redeem a voucher, login to your QuadrigaCX account and click the "Fund" button under your dollar denominated balance on the main member dashboard. On the account funding page, select the voucher option, and then enter your voucher code in the space provided. Upon clicking submit, the funds will be instantly available in your QuadrigaCX account. Note that vouchers can only be redeemed once.

What do the numbers in Green and Red within the Live Trade tab represent?

Each line item on the Live Trade tab represents completion of a buy/sell order and features the corresponding Date, Price, Amount and Value for that order. The Price is the rate at which the crypto-currency was bought/sold for and Green represents a bullish movement while the Red is bearish.

Do you support Ether Classic trading?

We do not support ETC funding or trading. If you held Ether through the hard fork you'll notice we have added a ETC balance in the amount equal to your Ether holdings, which is available for withdrawal on the Dashboard page.

I'd like to withdraw my Ether Classic, what wallet should I send them to?

We recommend Jaxx which has a dedicated ETC wallet for Android users. If you are on iOS you'll have to do you own research for which provider best meets your needs but here's a good article to get you started.
